Inspired Dance Company (IDC) 創舞坊

A non-profit-making dance society founded in 1988 focusing on dance education and creation.  Through the Company’s repertoires presented in almost the last four decades and those ahead, it continues to pursue its objectives of making arts entertaining and making entertainment artistic, and fostering the culture of dance in all age and physical groups, to not only people in the dance field but all walks of life. Inspired Dance Company has had been making its great effort in bridging arts and entertainment.   

In October 1997, it established Inspired Dance Education Abecedarian (IDEA) to enhance dance education, further promote dance and arouse the public interest in dance.  Recently, the Company has had been focusing on the Hong Kong Smart Dance Extravaganza (HKSDE) Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition (HKCCDC) and the Dream Cup Dance Competition (DCDC) to make a platform for dancers to pursue their dreams and in search of excellence.  Besides holding the HKCCDC and DCDC in Hong Kong, the Company spread the Challenge Cup Dance Competition out to cities in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Kaula Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila and Macau. 

成立於1988年，是一個舞蹈表演、創作及教育並重的非牟利舞蹈團，致力推廣舞蹈藝術；貫徹一向的藝術路向，把藝術娛樂化及娛樂藝術化。過去將近40年，透過主辦、指導、參與不同種類和形式的舞蹈演出、比賽和活動，以深入淺出的原創作品培養觀眾，提高舞蹈界內外人士對舞蹈的興趣，藉此推廣舞蹈藝術。

1997年10月成立創舞坊教育組，進一步推廣舞蹈教育工作，藉此更廣泛地引發觀眾對舞蹈藝術的興趣。近年積極舉辦香港舞林盛會香港挑戰盃舞蹈比賽及夢想盃舞蹈比賽，藉此提供一個平台予舞者追夢及尋找卓越成就。除了在香港舉行香港挑戰盃及夢想盃舞蹈比賽外，亦向海外推展挑戰盃舞蹈比賽，主辦地區遍及新加坡、吉隆坡、曼谷、馬尼拉、澳門。

As a coordinator, he participated in many dance projects like Artist-in-Residence Scheme for the Hong Kong Dance Federation and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in Hong Kong, such as “Dance Together” and “Broadway Musical Dance Training Program”. He also led the Hong Kong Troupe for the cultural exchange projects to Cyprus, Macau and Australia. Recently, he devotes all his effort to promote RAD syllabus, organized Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) examinations and teacher workshops in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China since 2013. 2009-2019 he organized the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (ACB) teacher training program and examination. He organized the Hong Kong Smart Dance Extravaganza Cum Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition since January 2014.

As a choreographer and artistic director, he won many awards including creative awards, 1st prize in Hong Kong and 2nd prize in China. He also staged many full-length productions included “Belonged”, “2Q11-Dreams”, “The Lake without Swans”, “Creation of Gods, Nezha”, “Dance Seriously Dance Happily Dance Naturally”, “The Son of Man”, “Love in a Fallen City” and “Old Well” as well as many other short pieces. He was appointed the adjudicator of the Philippines Dance Cup held in Manila in October 2018 and the 9th Asia-Pacific Dance Competition held in Singapore in July 2007.

As a dance teacher, he established the Inspired Dance Education Abecedarian to develop dance education. In 2017, he compiled the “Scientific Approach for Ballet Handbook – Alignment Turn Leap and launched the “Alignment Turn Leap” course. Bringing up dancers from amateur to professional. He was awarded The Prize Gardener (teacher’s category) in the 7th Taoli Cup Dance Competition, China National Arts Competition for Young People in which his students won six awards including the 1st prize. He was also the guest teacher of Chungnam National University (Korea), Shenzhen Arts School, Tina Chen School of Dancing (Shenzhen), Tong Ji University (Shanghai) and several other arts schools in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Beijing, Shanghai & Macau. He choreographed a contemporary piece “Ave Maria” for the 5th Beijing International Ballet Invitational for Dance Schools – Dance Performance Series in Beijing in October 2014. In 2017, two students get in the professional ballet companies in Hong Kong and Canada.

As a dancer, he danced for the Hong Kong Ballet for seven years and also the founder of Hong Kong Ballet Youth Education Unit. When he was in London, he also danced in the Tom Arnold Associates Limited’s production “The King and I” with Yul Bryner in London Palladium.

2014年至今，每年舉辦「香港舞林盛會」暨「香港挑戰杯舞蹈比賽」以推廣舞蹈文化為宗旨，為有志成為專業舞者的人士提供一個磨練平台、互相交流的機會。2013年成為亞太舞蹈協會(APDA)亞洲管理/業務代表，統籌考試及教師工作坊，推廣爵士舞、街舞、當代舞、芭蕾舞、音樂劇場舞蹈及踢踏舞舞蹈課程；2009-2019年引進澳洲芭蕾舞藝術學校(ACB)芭蕾舞考試課程及統籌考試和教師培訓課程，推廣以俄羅斯訓練方式學習芭蕾舞；2005-2012年是澳洲邦舞蹈教師協會(CSTD)香港區考試課程主任委員，澳洲聯邦舞蹈教師協會芭蕾舞及爵士舞文憑教師，致力推廣舞蹈課程。

2017年，編撰「科學芭蕾手冊 - 線‧轉‧跳」是課程始創人，開辦「線‧轉‧跳」科學芭蕾舞訓練課程，目標是透過舞蹈科學提升舞蹈教育水平，使舞者取得傑出成就及避免受傷，以舞蹈科學造就舞者由業餘邁向專業。2013年成立拾優會，致力向社會推廣誦經典、練氣功、跳芭蕾的全人教育。1997年成立創舞坊教育組，進一步推廣舞蹈教育工作。

他有兩位學生於2017年分別在香港及加拿大，加入專業芭蕾舞團當演員。近年積極於香港、澳門、深圳、珠海、北京、上海培訓老師及優秀學生，令優秀學生邁向國際，成為專業舞者。2016年8月攜同學生參加臺灣青少年國際古典芭蕾舞大賽；2015年7月攜同學生前往馬尼拉參加ACB國際學生工作坊的大師班；2014年10月攜同學生第五屆北京國際舞蹈院校芭蕾舞邀請賽暨舞蹈展演。2008年創舞坊成員亦在澳洲柏斯舞蹈節比賽獲得1個第一名和2個第二名佳績。2006年，新古典芭蕾舞《平衡》亦在澳洲柏斯之舞蹈節比賽獲得第二名。1997至2003年多次應邀到首爾，韓國芭蕾舞教師協會及忠南大學教授芭蕾舞及編舞。

近年在澳門蔚青舞蹈團舉辦芭蕾精英班及編排原創舞劇包括《石仔路上的澳門》、《緣聚婆仔屋》(現場版)、《歸屬》(劇場版)。多年來為創舞坊創作主要作品包括《祈願》、《二泉映月》、《波麗露 Bolero》(氣功芭蕾) 、《盼望》、《2Q11-夢》、《西班牙風情》、《悲痛》、《喜悅》、《平衡》、《火舞巴赫披頭四》、《舞細藝．舞偈．舞道理》、《封神榜 — 哪吒》、《人子》、《譴綣危情》和《老井》等。另外，他編排的《盤古初開》、《兩性之間》、《龍》及《無題》先後在旺角區、中西區、第19及23屆全港公開舞蹈比賽中獲頒優異獎、創作獎、金獎及全場最佳表演獎。2018年10月將應邀為馬尼拉芭蕾舞比賽的評判。2007年7月擔任於新加坡舉辦的第9屆亞太區舞蹈比賽的評判。1998-2011年任香港舞訊編輯，參與香港芭蕾舞歷史和香港舞蹈年鑒之編寫工作；1995年帶領香港代表團赴賽普勒斯演出，又為慶祝中國建國46周年演出晚會排演芭蕾舞。1988年應邀擔任創舞坊藝術總監。1997至2000年間，多番應邀為香港藝術圖書館主辦的舞蹈專題講座講者，國際藝評家協會藝術營導師，康樂及文化事務署主辦之藝團駐場計畫如「舞匯香江」、「百老匯音樂劇舞蹈訓練計畫」和「一人一分鐘舞蹈創作」之排舞導師及統籌等。

2001年應邀擔任深圳藝術學校特邀講師期間，為該校編排《練習曲》及《焰》，又為該校的桃李杯選手編排現代芭蕾舞及排練《吉賽爾》王子變奏、《唐．吉訶德》、《海盜》、《睡美人》、《天鵝湖》雙人舞男、女變奏等，並於第7屆桃李杯獲得1個一等獎、2個二等獎及3個三等獎，亦因教學成績優異獲中國文化部頒發一等園丁獎及深圳藝術學校頒發優秀指導老師證書。

1978年獲得愛丹舞蹈學院 (Urdang Academy of Dancing) 獎學金往英國深造，九個月後，在倫敦與尤伯連納同台演出著名音樂劇《國王與我》。1981年回港加入香港舞蹈團，同年轉投香港芭蕾舞團，演過的劇碼繁多，包括《拿波里》、《街道遊戲》、《蝴蝶夫人》、《歌碧莉亞》、《仙凡之戀》和《唐．吉訶德》，均獲一致好評。此外他也是香港芭蕾舞團青年教育組的創辦人之一，負責編、教、演等工作。
